Poems [Tanka/sonnet]

{Tuesday, May 18, 2010} @{9:17 PM}

Ok, so I have decided to post some of my pieces that I wrote in my Creative Writing class. Please give them a read and tell me what you think.

that pink shirt fella
bowed his head deeply to us
"I am so sorry"
he said with his back to us
left with his shoulders heavy

Four years of hard work vanished in four days
The family had been split up by force
Day by day just passes by in a haze
None of this would have been chosen by choice.
At first it was too hard to bare the pain
That family went from seven to six
Had nothing to lose and nothing to gain
Happiness was not part of that sad mix.
They had once been strangers to each other
All coming from different parts of the world
Soon were brothers from another mother
Like a flower blooming, friendship uncurled.
They are not only friends but family
So they wish for his return bravely.
